Clarke the new Australian captain

Ponting and Clarke

Michael Clarke as been appointed as the captain of Australian team since Ponting has been injured. Clarke will lead Australia in the 5th Ashses Test in Sydney against the England side. Clarke becomes the 43rd captain for Australia in the Test matches. Clarke has been the deputy for Ponting since 2008 and has got a chance to lead the side in 18 ODI and 18 T20's so far.

Clarke captaincy in the final Test will be watched closely by the Australian team management and the critics as well. Clarke has been regarded as the successor of Ponting for quiet a long time now. It all depends on how well Clarke can handle the pressure especially with his personal form being a big question mark. Can the Aussies pull back one to salvage pride though the Ashes would be retained by English men. Will have to wait to see the action.
