Ponting and Aleem Dar incident in Ashes

Ponting vs Aleem Dar
Aleem Dar and Ponting had a big argument on the second day of the Boxing Day test. Ryan Harris was bowling to Kevin Pieterson and Haddin collected the ball and claimed for a catch. The decision was taken to third umpire and hot spot revealed that there was no edge when the ball crossed the bat of Kevin Pieterson. Henceforth KP was given notout.

Ponting was not convinced and had a big argument with the on-field umpire Aleem Dar who had nothing to do with the decision given by the third umpire. Ponting was fined 40 percent of his match fees for his on field behavior with the umpire.

ICC Match Referee Madugalle said that Ponting's action is unacceptable since being the captain of a team he has to lead by example and not behave like this. It looks as if Ponting and Australia are loosing the Ashes . I guess this is just the beginning to the end of Dominance of Aussies in the World Circuit.

Shaun Tait rules out Ashes return

Shaun Tait

Shaun Tait rules out the possible return to Ashes. Tait feels that he does not have the stamina to play the longer form the game. Tait added that he does not bother criticism and he knows what his best for him. Tait said that he has to first play a lot of 4 day games for his county side in order to be a part of the Test squad for the National side.

Shaun Tait said that he is kind of selfish and it is just to increase his career as a ODI and a T20 specialist. Shaun Tait henceforth ruled the possibility of returning to the Test squad and felt that the Australian pace attack is very good and there are some specialist bowlers who can trouble the English batsman.

Australian bowler Brett Lee ruled out of 3rd Test

Australia's spearhead Brett Lee is ruled out of the third test against England in Edgbaston .There was a big chit chat that Australian Brett Lee will replace struggling Mitchel Johnson, but the scenario remains the same with Brett Lee still not completely recovered from his injury.

Australian Team has missed the services of Brett Lee very badly and without him in both the Test Australia have failed to take all the 20 England wickets. They have missed him more with Johnson totally out of socks and he is trying to many things and Ponting too is running out of ideas.

Australian vice captain Clarke revealed that though Lee is showing considerable improvement he cannot make it to the third test against England. When the press people asked about his availability for the rest of the serious he replied that he is not very sure about that. When will injured Brett Lee back in National colors?

Ashes 2009 :Brett Lee hopeful to make a comeback in third Test

Australian speedster Brett Lee is hopeful that he can make it to the Australian squad in the Third test in Edgbaston.Brett Lee is one of the senior bowlers of this Australian line up with 310 wickets to his name.Shane Watson is also fit and Australian captain would like to pick him up since he is a very handy all rounder.

Brett Lee told that he wanted to go there and give is 100 percent. The injury has sidelined him in one of the major tournament which every Australian would love to play. The second Test looks one sided and England are on the top and so with the inclusion of Brett Lee and Shane Watson can Ponting and his men script something spectacular. One thing is for sure we cannot write off this Australian team at any situation.

This innings of his will surely go in to the record books of Ashes as one of the greatest innings under pressure.

Ashes 2009 | Ricky Ponting angry with England tactics

Australian Captain Ricky Ponting fumes and he has asked the England Team to play under the "Spirit of the Sportsmanship".The Ashes 1st Test has started really well and England players played really well to save the match. All credit goes to Paul Collingwood who played really well and the last wicket partnership James Anderson and Panesar for staging a remarkable partnership, but hold on for a second I need to mention about the awful and wicked tactics used by England to save the test.

England physiotherapist appeared on the field without players calling him. This did not happen once but twice just to while away time so that England could inch closer to a remarkable draw. This was not the only case since England 12th man made an uninvited appearance to the field just to while away the time.I feel these are cheap tactics by England. There was a huge sigh of relief and smirk in England camp after they staged a big comeback and managed to draw the first Ashes test.

Ashes 2009 : Jeff Thomson feels Ricky Ponting is a crap captain

jeff Thomson feels Ponting is a crap captain

Jeff Thomson the former Australian captain has attacked the Aussie captain Ricky Ponting badly. He has said that he feels Ponting lacks leadership qualities and so far his team has done well only because of the quality of players that they had and there is nothing so great about his captaincy. He has also termed that Ponting right now has a average team and so the performances are also below average.Jeff Thomson said that he wondered what is Ponting going to do with the captaincy when it was given to him way back in 2004,and he added that he has still not improved a bit.

Jeff Thomson also hit against Brett Lee and he felt that Lee should not be in the playing eleven and he is not fit to make it there. The final verdict that
Jeff Thomson gave was England team have a better captain and Australian team have a better side.

Jeff Thomson had a word of praise for Ponting that he is by far the best batsman and the only problem with him his the lack of leadership qualities.I feel this could even be a tactical move by the Oz great Jeff Thomson just to trigger more intensity in the Aussie camp.

Andrew Flintoff fit and ready for Ashes

Andrew Flintoff

Andrew Flintoff is fit and is raring to go against the Australians in the Ashes. The series is the most prestigious event for both England and Australia.Australia have been the dominating side generally but off late with the heroics of Flintoff and Kevin Pieterson England have also had the upper hand.

Mickey Arthur believes also feels that Flintoff is the real trump card for England and they should use him as a attacking option and give him some short spells so that he can go all out at the Aussies.Ricky Ponting and his men would like to make up in the Ashes for the early exit in the T20 World Cup.This sums it up and we are in for an exciting contest between to evenly matched sides.
