Pune Warriors win with Dada back to IPL

Yuvraj Singh led Pune Warriors finally found their wining ways after 7 straight loses. Finally they had Ganguly in the scheme of things. Ganguly played a matured innings and guided the Pune Warriors home. Ganguly scored 32 ball 32 to seal for Pune against Deccan charges. Deccan Charges started very well but in the middle overs lost their way and managed to score a modest of 136 runs in their allotted 20 overs.

Manish Pandey and Ryder set the tone for Pune Warriors. Ryder made a quick fire 35 of 20 balls before he was castled by Ojha. Ganguly came in at one down and played a calm and collective knock to see Pune Warriors home.

Shane Warne to retire from IPL

Shane Warne the legendary Aussie spinner and the captain of Rajasthan Royals as decided to call it a day. Yes Rajasthan Royals skipper for the last four editions of the IPL has decided to retire from IPL at the end of this year. Warne has played 54 games in IPL right from edition one till the fourth edition and has taken 56 wickets at an average of 24.66.

Shane Warne according to me is one of the best captains in IPL. In the first edition of the IPL he had a very average team but went on to become the champions of the IPL. Shane Warne from the next edition of IPL will be associated with Rajasathan Royals as a coach or mentor.

IPL Auction : Top 5 players in IPL4

IPL4 is getting bigger and the T20 tournament will start on April 8th. The player who was bought for the highest amount in this IPL is Gautam Gambhir who was bought by Kolkata Knight Riders for $2.4 millions. The other news is that Gautam Gambhir is likely to lead KKR since their prevous captain Ganguly has been ignored by all franchise which means Ganguly will not play in this IPL season.

Ganguly, the former Indian captain has been ignored by all the franchise and even on day two of the IPL auction no one requested his name for re auction which means Ganguly will be missing this years IPL. This also means that this might be the end to Dada's cricketing career since he has already retired from International cricket.

Suresh Raina is Mr Dependable

Suresh Raina has become the prolific run scorer and his consistency makes him one of the best players from the younger generation. The special thing about Raina is his daring act of playing his natural game which is attacking the bowler and when it pays off the opposition team are clueless. Suresh Raina can also be called as a big match guy since during all the crunch games he delivers the goods.

Suresh Raina looks cool and composed even during tensed situation that makes him even more special. He is a brilliant fielder and with the addition of this IPL he has improved his bowling immensely and this makes him as a good utility all rounder in the near future. Well actually it is too early to call him Mr Dependable but if he continues his good run for the future he will surely be regarded as one of the Legends in the Indian Cricket history.

Sachin to join Pune team in IPL ?

Sachin hinted that he might leave Mumbai Indians and join the Pune team in IPL4.Sachin was attending the openeing ceremony of Lata Mangeshkar hospital where reporters asked him whether he would play for Pune and Sachin hinted that he can play for any team unless he enjoys cricket nothing matter for him. This means Sachin is not very sure whether he will stay in Mumbai Indians team.

Sachin also commented that the late night parties cannot be a reason for Indian players not performing well.Sachin also quickly added that he never attended one such party if they had a match the next day. Sachin also said that it is upto every individual to take care of themselves.

Sachin with Orange Cap in IPL3

Sachin Tendulkar happens to be the savior of Mumbai Indians has he is the lone player who fires for Mumbai and he has single handedly taken Mumbai to the semi finals. Mumbai Indians have secured a semi final birth and they are sitting pretty comfortably in the top of the table.Sachin's IPL3 perfomance is menacing especially with the form he is in. Sachin his taking calculated risk and playing some sheet anchor role for Mumbai and now he has gone past Kallis to grab the Orange Cap for the first time in IPL.

Sachin has now scored 512 runs in 11 matches at an average of 57 runs for each match at a strike rate of 140 which is making him more dangerous. Kallis is also in the race for the Orange Cap since he has scored 501 runs in the 11 matches. The third in the list is Sourav Ganguly but he is way beyond and has not reached even 400 runs. So it is between these two players whether Kallis or Sachin will have the Orange Cap.We will have to wait for the result and I fancy it would be with Sachin especially with the form he is currently in this season of the IPL.

Hayden guides CSK to win

Hayden was back to form which is a good news for Chennai especially in the absence of skipper Dhoni. Hayden was at his best and he clobbered the Delhi bowlers all round the park and scored 93 runs and made the target look so easy.Suresh Raina the stand in skipper played his part and he was on 49 when CSK won the match.

Suresh Raina took the responsibility and played really well which helped CSK to win a determinant and strong Delhi side.Dinesh Karthik the stand in skipper because of Gambhir's injury had no clues what to do especially after Hayden early onslaught.Mathew Hayden could be the real trump card if Chennai need to make it big this league of IPL also.

Rohit Sharma feels Dhoni and Gilly has similar type of captains

Rohit Sharma from India feels that Adam Gilchrist and MS Dhoni are a similar type of characters and both of them carry the team really very well even during tense situations and this mainly because of their calm and cool nature. Rohit Sharma is one of the few youngsters in India who is predicted as the future of the Indian team. Even though the talent for Rohit Sharma he is not able to cement a place for himself in the ODI squad for India.

Gilchrist also felt that this young talent from India will surely make it big. Ray Jennings feels Virat Kohli has the future India captain

Virat Kohli could be the future of the Indian team that is what the Royal Challengers Bangalore coach feels. Ray Jennings admitted that he is able to see some leadership qualities in Virat Kohli which sets him apart from all other players and after the Indian skipper Dhoni looses his Midas touch we could see Virat Kohli to become the captain of India.

IPL rights in UK goes to ITV : Lalit Modi

ITV has got the official rights to air all the IPL matches in U.K.IPL rights for this season goes to ITV, and this was the official statement given by Lalit Modi. The third season of IPl starts at March 12th and the show will be aired for 45 days. It is going to be complete entertainment with all the best players in the world competing against each other.

The other biggest tie up for IPL organizers is that the matches will be telecasted in You tube. ITV director told that this deal is made so that the people in UK can have a nice time watching the world's best cricketers show casing their hard hitting skills.

IPL auction 2010 sold players

IPL auction began and the West Indian players ruled the auction with Pollard sold for more than $750,000 and Kemar Roach for $720,000. Shane Bond was other major player whose base price was just $100,000 but he was sold for a whooping price of more than $750,000.The surprising fact of IPL auction was no one was willing to take any of the Pakistani players including Shaid Afridi.

1) Kevin Pollard was got by Mumbai Indians after they won the silent tiebreaker.

2) Shane Bond was got by Kolkata Knight Riders for more than 750,000+ afetr they won the silent tiebreaker.

3) Kemar Roach was won by Deccan Charges for 720,000$.

Chennai Superb Kings got Justin Kemp for $100,000 which i think is a very good buy when considered to the amount they spent on the big hitting fellow.Mohamed Kaif was got by Kings Punjab for $250,000.

IPL auction new rule - Silent Tiebreaker

IPL mania has started and the IPL 3 is getting bigger and bigger and the IPL has new rules this time for the auction on players.The name of the rule is silent tiebreaker which would be employed during the IPL auction if two franchise end up for a player with a same price.Lets say if two franchise bid for a player A and have ended up in the same amount which is $750,000.This is when th silent tiebreaker comes in where both teams would place an additional bid for the player and whomsoever bid is more they will have the player.

The new Silent Tiebreaker rule is creating a lot of controversy since the additional amount will go for IPL and not for the player.Lalit Modi however has said that the Tiebreaker rule would be enforced and anyone not agreeing would have to face the problem since it is a part of IPL 3.

IPL is turning the heat even on BCCI

Indian Premier League (IPL) is turning the heat on BCCI. IPL is getting so big these days players are more inclined to their county teams instead of national assignments.Lalit Modi told that these kind of comments are baseless and should be totally avoided. He says that there are so many positives from the game since more more youngsters are exposed to International arena and they get a National side nod if they really perform well at this level.

KKR coach is Dev Whatmore

Dev Whatmore has been elected as the new coach for Kolkata Knight Riders. There was huge speculation that would be the next coach after John Buchanan's exit.Dev Whatmore is known for his coaching skills he was the coach for the winning Srilankan team in 1996. Dev Whatmore was also know for his instrumental approach with which Bangladesh upset India in the 2007 World Cup.

SRK the owner of KKR franchise hopes that Dev Whatmore will bring fortunes to his team and thy will come out with a bang this time. Sourav Ganguly might be elected as the captain but no official announcement has been made so far.

Andrew Flintoff retires from Test Cricket

Andrew Flintoff one of the greatest from the modern day generation announced his retirement from International Cricket.Flintoff his current age is 31 and experts believe that the series of injuries that he had in his cricketing career has hampered his game significantly.I still believe he has some years of cricket left in him.

Freddie has had four ankle injuries and recently there was a surgery done to him.These where the main reasons he could not sustain a long lasting International career.England fans are highly disappointed and it is their right to do so.

Flinroff has some credits to his name.He is one of the most popular characters of the game and he is the best all rounder according to my perspective.Freddie retirement might have been un-expected to many but I would like to add a point that here after there will be a lot of players retiring very quiky even with some very short duration of International Cricket to play the lucrative Indian Premier League (IPL).

I never mean that Flintoff has done this to play in the IPL, but the T20 format of the game though being short demands lot from the players,and so it would have a telling factor in the players and it would test their stamina especially with the amount of Cricket that players play.

IPL has no permanant slot | David Morgan

ICC chief David Morgan has confirmed that the cash-rich Indian Premier League (IPL) does not have any fixed slot in the ICC cricketing calendar.This means that we are not sure when the IPL matches will start each year.Morgan also said that Lalit Modi is continuously insisting for a fixed date about IPL but with the busy International schedule the ICC cannot assure the exact dates.

Morgan was asked whether cricketers will miss International tours for cash rich tournaments such as IPL.Morgan replied that only cricketers who are about to retire from cricket will opt to play in these kind of tournaments,but the rest of the players will try to play for there nation.

IPL Pakistan Cricketer Mohammad Asif fined Rs 1 million in drugs case

Mohammad Asif played in the inaugural IPL for the Delhi Daredevils.He was the most important fast bowler for them but his performances where not up to the expectation.He was detained in the airport on the charges that he had drugs.Asif has been charged Rs 1 million which is approximately US$12,500.

PCB had put a 3 member committee who reviewed this case and they have recommended to Ijaz Butt the chairman of PCB to fine such a huge amount.Asif has also accepted the punishment and he told the reporters that he had done a mistake and he feels guilty for that.The three member committee said that it was the decision of the panel to give Asif the financial punishment.

Dhoni and Yuvraj will be trump card for team India: Chappell

Greg Chappell the foremer Indian coach feels that India have a edge when compared to the other teams in this Twenty Twenty format. T 2o is about how you play on that particular day but still I feel India are the hot favorites to retain the T20 World Cup.

Greg Chappell feels that M.S.Dhoni and Yuvraj are the trump card for Indian.even though they both had lean patches in the IPL he still feels that they can be very destructive.He also felt that Australia had to improve in this form of the game.He had a word of praise for Dhoni he termed him as one of the best captains in the present day.

IPL to have 10 teams from 2011 onwards

Lalit Modi the chairman and commissioner of IPL confirmed that there will be 10 teams in the IPL from 2011.Lalit Modi also hinted that they are planning to have two IPL's every year.One in India which will be a normal one another in South Africa or England which will be a shortened one.

Lalit Modi thanked the fans of South Africa for supporting IPL and told that they have witnessed some very close matches and he thanked all the players and the team franchise.Finally Modi said that from next year onwards IPL will be back in India.
