Indian Cricket team in Australia

Indian Cricket team
Since 1947, India has not won a test series in Australia. But this time Dhoni’s men are considered so strong both in bowling and batting which may be able to achieve the feat. With Shewag the most feared opening bat along with some of the others are the real forces to reckon. The likes of Tendulkar, Dravid and VVS Lakshman who all may be playing their last Australia tour are expected to live up to their reputations. India should capitalize the poor performances of Ricky Ponting and Mike Hussey. The team management believes our front line pacers Zakeer and Ishant Sharma can fire. The first test starts on Boxing Day at Melbourne.

Kiwis shocked Australia

Doug Bracewell

Fast bowler Doug Bracewell took everyone by surprise by bowling an excellent spell. He sealed the fate on Aussies by taking 6 wickets for just 40 runs. The wickets include present and former captains Clark and Ponting respectively. Of course David Warner the lone warrior hit his maiden century. He also carried his bat to score 123 off 170 balls that included 14 fours.

Ross Taylor the captain of New Zealand is very pleased with his pacer Doug Bracewell who turned the match upside down by removing top three batsman. At a very young age of 21 and only playing his 3rd test match, he did this feat and also squared the series.

Kieron Pollard century in Vain

Kieron Pollard

The West Indian star batsman Pollard blistering knock of 119 off 110 balls still could not finish on winning note. At the end of the day the visitors were short of 34 runs in the final one day match at Chepauk Stadium. Even the pitch was not conducive for batting as the balls quite often kept low but Pollard still managed with his hard hitting stroke play and led the fight back. Overall he hit ten sixes. He along with Russell who nevertheless created panic with his huge hitting seemed to take away the match.

In India's innings, Manoj Tiwary scored a brilliant maiden hundred and held partnership with Koli who once again contributed 80 runs. Eventually, the series came to an end with India leading 4-1.

Australia team against India

Patrick Cummins

Patrick Cummins of Australia is doubtful against India. The 18 year old fast bowler Cummins who is expected to play against India in Melbourne this month is a doubtful starter. Initially, it was thought his heel injury will be alright but the scan report shows his bone got stressed. Ultimately, it is so unfortunate for Patrick to sit out for the oncoming test series. Meanwhile, the good news is that opening batsman Shaun Marsh is raring to go as he will be found fit from the back injury.

Chris Cairns views on Ricky Ponting

Ricky Ponting

Former New Zealand Captain Chris Cairns has described the former Australia Captain Ricky Ponting as an elephant. He remarked Ricky Ponting should call it a day after an average scores of 27 for the past two years. He is also holding the view that Aus Board may even think of retiring Ricky Ponting as Ponting himself delaying the decision. He further concludes who is to bell the Elephant that is Ricky Ponting and adds he never argues over the Aussie's brilliant batting caliber in those days.
