Shahid Afridi injury not serious

Shahid Afridi the Pakistan captain is sure that he will recover from his side strain before the first T20 match against the Australians. Afrdi got this side strain when played against the Essex and he feels that it i snot a very serious injury and will recover on time. Afridi also added that he knows the importance of his presence not only as a captain but also a senior player.

Pakistan Cricket Board are more concerned about the injury of Afridi since it is a very long tour which ends only by September.Afridi is in prime form and in the recently concluded Asia Cup he scored two centuires one against Srilanka and another against Bangladesh.

Shahid Afridi scores a great century

Shahid Afridi should be called the Hero of the Pakistan . Afridi scored a great century under pressure. He came in to the crease when Paksitan where tattering at 32/4 and scored a magnificent hundred. Afridi would have gone to win the match for Pakistan if Sangakkara had not caught such a spectacular catch.

Afridi scored 109 of just 76 balls with 8 fours and 7 sixes. He looked unstoppable until he got cramps. He scored his runs at a strike rate of nearly 150 making life very difficult for Sri Lankan bowlers.

Afridi was the only batsman who applied himself while the rest of the players played horrible cricket to hand over a humiliating loss to Srilanka. Akthar was another man who impressed me in this match who bowled his heart out. Akthar got 3 wickets in his 10 overs and gave away 41 runs.Even though Pakistan ended up in the loosing side Afridi is the real hero for me in this match.

Younis backs Afridi as captain

Waqar Younis backs Shahid Afridi as the captain of Pakistan for the longer form of the game also. I think he will do well and produce good results for Pakistan in the longer form of the game also.Pakistan legendary former cricketer Imran Khan also backed Afirdi as the Pakistan captain for a longer run.

Younis told that Pakistan team are in a rebuilding phase and it would take time for them to become a stronger unit. Shoib Akthar inclusion in the team is a surprise for him since he is not very sure whether the player is fit.

Afridi ready to play Test match Cricket

Pakistan all rounder Shahid Afridi has reversed his retirement decision from Test cricket and he is ready to play Test match for his country. Afridi in 2006 had announced that he is going to retire from Test cricket and concentrate more and the shorter forms of the game.Afridi has changed his decision now because he feels that the team needs him and so he will be available for the series against England.

The unavailability of all the senior players of Pakistan team is the reason for Afridi to get back to Test cricket.The captain for the Test match series will be announced on May 25th and most likely Afridi will lead the side especially due to his experience and he is the senior most cricketer in the team.
