Zaheer Khan and Sreesanth out of WI Test series

Zaheer Khan Sreesanth
The Indian spearhead Zaheer Khan has been ruled out of the WI Test series. This is a big blow for India as already the team looks weak without the first choice players. Zaheer Khan has been ruled out with an ankle injury while Sreesanth has been ruled out because of elbow injury.

This is mainly due to the impact of the IPL. If this situation continues there is a possibility of the teams loosing its star players very soon in the form of early retirement. Either IPL should be held once in two years or the International schedule should not be so tight making the players more injury prone. BCCI it is time to act and take some smart decisions.

BCCI snubs Dhoni

India won the practice match against Australia but they lacked the intensity on the field and especially the running between the wickets was horrible. During the post match conference Dhoni said that it was tough for the players to prepare themselves mentally when they knew it was a warm up game, especially with the amount of cricket being played.

BCCI was furious about Dhoni's comment and told that BCCI is not forcing any player to play IPL or Champions League. BCCI spokesman also said that if any one is feeling fatigue they should just inform the team management and rest for that game and not make such loose comments.

Airtel and Sahara bid for India team sponsor

BCCI invited four sponsors to bid for Team India. Well but only two of them are now in the race for Indian team sponsor. Airtel and Sahara are in the fray for this which means either Indian team will get new sponsors in the form of Airtel or Sahara will renew their contract for the next three years.

BCCI feels that the decline in interest is mainly because of the IPL and more sponsors are ready to invest their money only in the lucrative IPL.BCCI will announce the winner of the bid on Monday after the marketing committee meet

Kotla pitch faces an International ban

Kotla ground
The pitch at Kotla provided for the 5th ODI between India and Srilanka was pathetic. The wicket had uneven bounce and it made life very difficult for th batsman.Dilshan and Sanath tried their level best but the wicket was dangerous for play. This is was the second time in India a match is abaonded due to bad pitch conditions. The last time this happened was way back in 1196 in Indore and ironically both these teams where playing during that time. The only player in the squad in both the matches was Sanath Jaysuriya.

BCCI and DDCA where fired big time by the former players and they told that this is a very bad thing since it happened in India the second time. The Delhi Cricket Association apologized to the crowd and they agreed to give the money back for the spectators.

IPL is turning the heat even on BCCI

Indian Premier League (IPL) is turning the heat on BCCI. IPL is getting so big these days players are more inclined to their county teams instead of national assignments.Lalit Modi told that these kind of comments are baseless and should be totally avoided. He says that there are so many positives from the game since more more youngsters are exposed to International arena and they get a National side nod if they really perform well at this level.

Ratnakar Shetty on the other side feels that players are more focused on these cash rich tournaments and this is not good for the national side.Ratnakar Shetty also questioned the attitude of players since one of the senior players had told that their was not much feeling in the dressing room after India's early exit from Champions Trophy.Has IPL really turned the players attitude towards national assignments?Share your thoughts.

IPL to be played in abroad

IPL season 2 will take place as scheduled but the venue has been changed to abroad. The venue is yet to be finalised. But it is officially announced that matches cannot be conducted in India because the State Government are not in a position to provide security. The BCCI had an emergency meeting and decided upon this issue.

Franchise owners backed the decision of the BCCI to move the IPl to abroad. This would not incur any loss to the revenues.Mostly likely place where th eIPL matches will be conducted is England. But nothing is officially announced.Shah Rukh Khan owner of KKR called it a "great" decision and Mumbai Indians co-owner Nita Ambani this shifting of IPL ensured that there will not be any losses to the owners and he too backed the decision.
