IPL 6 opening ceremony pics stills

IPL 6 was filled with joy and was typically conducted in Bollywood style. American rappen Pitbull along with SRK , Deepika and Katrina Kaif were the celebrities entertaining the 60,000 crowd at the Salt Lake Stadium. The stadium was jam packed and people were filled with joy, as it was thorough entertainment from SRK and the rest. The Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee inaugurated with opening ceremony.

This time IPL6 will be quite interesting with all teams trying to compete at highest levels. Chennai would be the strongest contenders , but you never know in this format, which makes this more interesting.Ponting would be eading Mumbai Indians . This would be a challenge for him and KKR captain Gambhir would like to defend the title. You never know what the minnows like Sunrisers could do in this IPL. We have to wait and watch the action.  

Sachin to join Pune team in IPL ?

Sachin hinted that he might leave Mumbai Indians and join the Pune team in IPL4.Sachin was attending the openeing ceremony of Lata Mangeshkar hospital where reporters asked him whether he would play for Pune and Sachin hinted that he can play for any team unless he enjoys cricket nothing matter for him. This means Sachin is not very sure whether he will stay in Mumbai Indians team.

Sachin also commented that the late night parties cannot be a reason for Indian players not performing well.Sachin also quickly added that he never attended one such party if they had a match the next day. Sachin also said that it is upto every individual to take care of themselves.

Sachin with Orange Cap in IPL3

Sachin Tendulkar happens to be the savior of Mumbai Indians has he is the lone player who fires for Mumbai and he has single handedly taken Mumbai to the semi finals. Mumbai Indians have secured a semi final birth and they are sitting pretty comfortably in the top of the table.Sachin's IPL3 perfomance is menacing especially with the form he is in. Sachin his taking calculated risk and playing some sheet anchor role for Mumbai and now he has gone past Kallis to grab the Orange Cap for the first time in IPL.

Sachin has now scored 512 runs in 11 matches at an average of 57 runs for each match at a strike rate of 140 which is making him more dangerous. Kallis is also in the race for the Orange Cap since he has scored 501 runs in the 11 matches. The third in the list is Sourav Ganguly but he is way beyond and has not reached even 400 runs. So it is between these two players whether Kallis or Sachin will have the Orange Cap.We will have to wait for the result and I fancy it would be with Sachin especially with the form he is currently in this season of the IPL.

IPL 2009 : Dream IPL team by APF agency

Indian Premier League which had 59 matches all together witnessed some most interesting matches and nail-biting finishes.The team which emerged as winners was the Deccan Charges who were the last in the table last time around.There are a lot of individual notable performances and based on strike rate average and the consistency the Dream team for IPL 2009 has been selected.

IPL 2 : Points table before semi-finals.Delhi Daredevils top the table

The IPL2 has gone up very well and we have seen some very close matches even this year.The josh is still there for cricket.Only team in this IPL has cemented its dominance so far in this IPL and it is Delhi Daredevils.Sehwag and Gambir have not performed much and still Delhi have topped the table.Still one match to go for each team before semi-finals.Two teams have confirmed their Semis berth.One being the best team so far none other than the Delhi Daredevils and the second team being the Chennai Superb Kings.The main reason for CSK to make it to the semis is mainly because of Mathew Hayden and the cool captaincy of M.S.Dhoni.



The rest of the teams who are in contention for semi-finals are Deccan Charges , Royal Challengers Bangalore and Kings XI Punjab.These three teams are in contention while Rajasthan Royals have slipped slightly.The two teams who are out of the tournament are Mumbai Indians and Kolkata Knight Riders.I guess the finals will be between Delhi Daredevils and Chennai Superb Kings.They are the two best teams in this IPL so far.We have to wait and see who will be the winner.Since predicting a winner is a very tough job.

Jonty Rhodes not impressed with Indian players fielding skills

Jonty Rhodes was not very much impressed with the way the Indians field.He told that the Indian field as come of ages but it still can be improved to call that it is World Class.In this IPL he feels that hardly no Indian up to the mark.The all time "Best fielder termed that Herschelle Gibbs, AB de Villiers, David Warner and JP Duminy are the best in the tournament so far.

Jonty termed that there are 3 basic qualities that make a fielder world class.They are

1) Footwork

2) Ability to enjoy and

3) Great intensity.

He also felt that most of the Indian players lack these aspect to call themselves th World's best.

The drama of IPL 2009 is getting bigger as the half way stage has been reached.We cannot predict a team who will still has a great contention to win the cup.Each day each team is reaching the top position.Mumbai where the first to top the table then Deccan ,then Chennai Superb Kings topped the table and finally at the half way stage it is Delhi Daredevils who are on the top.Each team has had its ups and downs except Kolkata Knight Riders who are literally out of the tournament.So the heated drama is getting bigger day by day.So people can even watch the matches online.

IPL 2 : Highlights of Mumbai Indians vs Kings XI Punjab

Kings XI Punjab won the toss and elected to bat.They could not score at great pace and managed only very little in the allotted 20 overs.This was mainly because they lost wickets at regular intervals. All the batting big guns of Punjab had to go early except Sangakkara who played well for his unbeaten 45.Punjab scored 119 in their allotted 20 overs.In reply Mumbai Indians scored 116 /7 in their allotted 20 overs.

Parade by all team before the IPL 2009

IPL 2009 in South Africa started in grand style.All the teams had a parade and the whole scene was really colorful.There where many programs that was there and most of them where very entertaining.Out of all the programs the teams had a parade which looked very colorful and the noise that the crowd made looked how crazy the South African people where for cricket.

IPL Match 1 : LIVE UPDATE Mumbai Indians beat Chennai Superb Kings by 19 runs

The first match of the IPL was not quite interesting and fascinating when compared to last year.Last year we had a very entertain knock by Kolkata Knight Riders wicket keeper Mucullum who happens to be this year's captain for KKR.Fien getting back to the match.The toss which looked crucial was won by Dhoni an Dhoni elected to field first.Sachin and Sanath had a 39 run partnership afetr which Sanath was out.Then some re building was done bu Mumbai Indians and they scored 165/7.Thanks to some great batting by Sachin and a very good cameo innings by Abishek Nayar.

The hero of today 's match was a stray dog which entered the ground.The officials had a hard time without and found it extremely difficult to take out of the ground.Play was delayed for at least 10 minutes because of this.

In reply CSK had a horrible start loosing Parthiv Patel in the first over itself.Then last year prolific run scorer Suresh Raina came to the crease and he did not last long.Mathew Hayden and Flintoff had a partnership and things look back on track for CSK when Flintoff lost his wicket to Harbhajan.then Dhoni came in and tried his best.But no use CSK only managed to score 146/7 in the allotted 20 overs and lost the match by 20 runs.

Ticket rates for IPL 2

The tickets for the opening match as been already sold out.The match is between Chennai Superb Kings and Mumbai Indians.Both are really strong teams with Ms Dhoni caprain for CSK and Sachin captain for Mumbai Indians.

The ticket rates for the matches are considerably very low this time.The IPL officialls have placed at a highly affordable rates.The lowest ticket cost Rs 70 (Indian rupees) and the highest ticket cost little more than Rs 1000.

The countdown has already started and to select a winner from the team his very tough.Who are is goin to win the cup it is going to be great fun watching thses matches.

Mumbai Indians to train under Rhodes and Pollock

IPL 2 remained uncertain but the teams have already started there preparations.Mumbai Indians Rajasthan Royals and Royal Challengers Banglore are the teams which have started preparations

Mumbai Indians went to the next level of sending cricketers to Durban .These palyers will be trained by Shaun Pollock and Jonty.The franchise owner has sponsored and already sent 6 players. They are Pinal Shah,Yogesh Takawale Rahil Shaikh and Rohan Raje.Then they are sending another bunch of cricketers as next set by March 19.

Mumbai Indians may sign $3m deal with Idea

Mumbai Indians are signing up deal with cell network Idea as lead sponsor for IPL-II. The deal is estimated to be $2 million, which could raise up to $3 million should the team make it to the semis. Pepsi is the beverage partner for Mumbai Indians and the deal has been already signed.

Mumbai Indians official spokes-person confirmed that the Mumbai Indian team players would be sporting a new jersey which has Idea logo in it since they are the major partners.He is also added that nothing is confirmed officially, and said that within one or two days official contract will be signed.
