Chaminda Vaas hae been recalled for third Test

Chamind Vaas has been recalled to the SriLankan squad for the third Test Match against the Pakistan.Vaas who was once regarded as the premier bowler of Srilankan line up is side lined these days mainly because of his age.The last time when Vaas represented Srilanka was in the Lahore Test which was aborted due to the gunman open fire.

There was some speculation that Vaas had retired.Sri Lanka's chief selector,Ashantha de Mel reportedly said that Vaas had retired from Test Cricket, but when contacted Vaas he told that he is still fit and wants to play cricket at least till the 2011 World Cup.

Vaas would consider himself really luck since he was not there in the World Cup T20 side as well. This gives Vaas a ray of hope to make a comeback in to the National side.Vaas replaces off-spinner Suraj Randiv in the 16 member squad.
