Sachin’s first Sporting hero was not a cricketer. He was Tennis Superstar John McEnroe. In the year 1981, the Wimbledon final game was shown in India. It was the first game that was shown live in India. The game was between Five year champion Bjorn Borg and John McEnroe. All over the World, Borg was the favorite man. But Sachin’s favorite was John McEnroe. In that Wimbledon John McEnroe brought an end to Borg and his victory was praised by one and all.
Watching John McEnroe game, Sachin’s became the fan of him and his fascination was for Tennis. He took a racket in hand like Wimbledon Champions two wristbands and a head band with his curly hair he was called by his friends as “Mac”. At that time his age was only 8.
