World Champions India - De gumake

Indian team lead under the captaincy of Dhoni has clinched the World cup for the second time after 28 years. Dhoni the Mr. Cool saved his best for the last. He scored a match winning knock of 91 in 78 balls to take the game away from SriLanka. India needed more than 270 runs in the final. It was surely a difficult task especially after the most brutal opening pair in the World, Sachin and Sehwag went cheaply. The match was evenly poised and in came Kohli with Gambhir steadied the India ship.

Kohli's departure saw M.S.Dhoni promote himself up the order and this made few eye brows raise. Dhoni played very cautiously to start of with and cut loose only towards the end. Dhoni and Gambhir were in match winning stand of more than 100 runs which made a stiff target look quite easy. Gambhir played an unnecessary shot after playing so well for his 97 runs. Finally Dhoni cut loose to win the game with a six and grabbed the Man of the Match award too.
